The foremost priority of the Kinsale Branch is our local community, be it providing ambulance cover to any event or giving first aid training to the general public or any commercial entity that requires it from first aid to AED.

We arrange visitations to the elderly in hospital and undertake courses in handcare, all of which are listed on this website. We are also involved in searches throughout Cork and beyond including the searches in Owinahincha Beach, Waterford and of course we were on standby in Dunmore East throughout the search for the victims of the trawler tragedy in Jan 2007.

We are present at the annual Corpus Christi procession in Kinsale to provide both representation and first aid cover. The annual Sea Sunday Service in St. Multose Church has representation by a senior officer from our unit each year. We are happy to be contacted by any organisation that would like to be associated with the Red Cross in the community as we are all working together towards a better environment.

The Unit section has frequent training sessions with other agencies to ensure a better working relationship combined with the possibility of working more efficiently together should the need arise in the event of emergencies or disaster. Those agencies include the Fire Brigade and the Coast Guard.
